Once AWS is selected, the subsequent steps apply to both Dashboard and Desktop assessment methods.
Step 2: Choose the Authentication Method
There are two authentication methods available to grant the necessary permissions and run the assessment.
Option 1: IAM Role (Recommended)
This is the default and recommended method.
Using an IAM Role ensures that the Lucidity Assessment App can securely access your AWS resources without storing access keys.

Proceed to IAM Role Authentication Mode User Guide in the Lucidity Assessment for AWS
Option 2: Client Credentials
Select this option if using IAM Roles is not feasible.
In this method, you will need to create an AWS Policy and attach it to an existing or new IAM User to provide the necessary permissions.

Proceed to Client Credentials Authentication Mode User Guide in the Lucidity Assessment for AWS
Before proceeding, review the policy to understand the exact permissions required for assessment. This policy grants the minimum necessary privileges to allow Lucidity to perform metadata analysis and enable VM Insights temporarily (based on permissions). Refer to Lucidity Assessment for AWS – Permissions Policy
Step 3: Initiate the Assessment
Once all required details are entered, click “Initiate Assessment.”
Step 4: View Results
The cost-saving insights from the assessment will be available on the Lucidity Assessment Dashboard within a few hours.
A detailed analysis and optimization recommendations will also be shared by the Lucidity teams
