Bulk Install Agent

This guide provides instructions on how to use the new feature of our platform that allows the bulk installation of Lucidity agent across multiple VMs from any Azure subscription or AWS region.

Pre-requisites

1. Please complete the linking of your AWS or Azure cloud account with Lucidity. You can do this through the ‘Accounts’ page available from the Dashboard left nav.

Bulk Agent Installation Process

1. Please open the ‘Onboard Disk’ page from the Dashboard left nav panel.

2. You will first need to select a Tenant from the ‘Select Tenant’ dropdown menu. Then select a Subscription  from the ‘Select Subscription’ dropdown menu. In the case of AWS, instead of the ‘subscription’,  please select the AWS region.

   

   Please note that to retrieve the list of instances, you will need necessary authorization to read virtual machine data. In the case of Azure these are: Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachines/read' permissions.

3. Upon selecting the appropriate Tenant and Subscription / Region, you will see the list of instances belonging to the subscription or region.

4. You can multi-select instances where you wish to install the Lucidity agent.

5. Next click the ‘Install Agent’ button to begin the installation.

6. You will be shown a confirmation message as follows:

   

7. Upon confirmation, the agent installation will begin. You can refresh the page to check the status of the installation.

   

8. In case of any failure, you can also choose to install the agent manually on the instance. Clicking on the ‘Install Agent Manually’ button will bring up the installation instructions.

   

9. Once the agent installation is complete, you can proceed with onboarding the volumes to the AutoScaler platform.
