Agent Decommissioning

Prev Next

The Lucidity agent should be uninstalled only after all associated resources have been fully deboarded. Uninstalling the agent prematurely may lead to incomplete cleanup, orphaned configurations, or disruption in storage operations.

Prerequisites

Before proceeding with uninstallation, ensure the following:

  • All mount points and volumes are deboarded
Verify that no disks, partitions, or mount points are managed by the Lucidity Autoscaler.

Uninstallation Overview

Agent uninstallation is the reverse of the installation process and involves:

  • Stopping and removing agent services

  • Deleting installed packages and binaries

  • Cleaning up configuration files and logs

This ensures a complete and clean removal of the agent from the system.

Known Limitations

  • Agent uninstall is not available from the dashboard
At present, agent removal must be performed manually on the virtual machine.

  • Dashboard state is not auto-updated
The Install Agent page does not immediately reflect manual uninstallation. The agent may still appear as installed until a refresh or reconciliation occurs.

Proceed to guides on agent uninstallation commands for Windows and Linux.
